Hello from two girls! Happy the dog aka the Happy doggie is missing from this picture but as usual, he is, of course - happy.
We're still staying with my family for a few days more. I'm deeply immersed into preparing Christmas. So far, we've baked millions, zillions, gazillions of gingerbread cakes and decorated them (photos later), of pierogis stuffed with cabbage and mushroom, of pierogis with potatoes and cheese, of small uszka (very small dumplings with a mushroom filling, which we eat in beet soup - barszcz - for Christmas dinner) and other traditional specialties.
I so love being here.
Grandma will be celebrating her 100th anniversary next month... she's very surprised she'll be one hundred! She didn't like me taking this picture, I think, she turned her head so it's not the best one.Toska jumped on the big table when I packed gifts to send away and guarded them for me....
I heard from Barbara that she received this very special gingerbread boy, with the names of her closest darlings... I had a lot of fun making it!
Told you my uszka were tiny! They all laugh at me here because I'm known to make VERY small dumplings... my own tradition and specialty!

Your grandmother looks amazing for 100!!! Not a day over 75!
Christmas eve dinner is one of my favorite meals. I love the food and the traditions around it. Of course, it helps to grow up 1/2 Polish and have a Polish mother-in-law that carries on the traditions.
