Norwegian "snuff"
I've always wondered about it during my stays in Norway. Does this exist in other countries? If so, what would be the French (ideal) or English name???

I'm tobacco challenged but very curious! :)
I just need to put the latest stitches on the French freebie I've been working on during the week-end and should be able to post a finished picture tomorrow. Then I just need to finish it!

Don't know about French, but snuff is snuff in English. I don't know who brought it to america, but it was a popular nicotine fix. If I'm remembering correctly I had a great-grannny who indulged 100 or more years ago. The Japanese also used it, judging by the number of Japanese snuff boxes on Antiques Roadshow. The only worse habbit I can think of is chewing tobacco - nasty disgusting.

If I have well understood , in french we call it "tabac à priser" if you put it inside the nostrils, or "tabac à chiquer" if you chew it

In one word, Norwegians seem to absorb a stuff everyone knew but me! LOL
